He Knew What Lay Ahead

Week Two: Jesus Predicts His Death
Day:
8
Pray:
Lord, You know that sometimes I don't understand Your Word completely, but I want to. Open my mind today, I pray.
Read:

Luke 18:31-34

31 Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. 32 He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. 33 On the third day he will rise again."

34 The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.

Reflect:

What does it mean to you that Jesus knew all that he'd suffer and went through it anyway?

Apply:
Have you ever been ridiculed or suffered in some way for Jesus' sake? Are you willing, if necessary?
Pray:
Lord Jesus, I'm grateful for all that You suffered for me! May I be willing to suffer for You, too.
